The brief consisted on the visual translation of one of Italo Calvino’s “Italian folktales”. My team chose “Dear as salt”, and we translated it into a variable font.
Variability, in fact, is the main feature of the tale’s characters. Another recurring event was the presence of the number three, which we represented by designing the font through modules and splitting them into three parts. Once completed, we applied the font in two augmented reality posters visible through Artvive.
